Heartwarming story of Electron Boy

Watch out Super Villains, there's a new Super Hero in town: Electron Boy! A great group of people came together to make a 13-year-old's dream come true in Seattle when Erik Martin, his secret identity, took his super-hero form: Electron Boy. Martin who has liver cancer had one wish, to be a super hero. And for one day, these people made his wish come true. I encourage you to read the whole story here. (If you're in a hurry, just read the very last line)

I take two things away from this post:
1. When you are thinking about doing something that impinges on your time, and you start thinking about how hard your life is and why you need that time, please take a second to count your blessings and realize that your instant gratification could be traded to change/help someone's life. Those random onlookers could have stayed in and relaxed on the couch. I'm sure they work very hard and enjoy their time to relax. But they made a choice that pays dividends.
2. It was a thousand small efforts that made this one momentous day for Erik. It sounds cheesy, cliche, and from some banner you'd see in an elementary school classroom, but if we all went out of our way to do something small to help someone else, it would make a big difference in the aggregate.

The people who put this together, they've got a black rock state of mind...
